what have you done so far?

I have been growing fresh vegetable since 2011, every year taking on more responsibility and increasing the size of growing space. It started in St. Thomas with a balcony garden, and grew to a plot of land. I have acquired many different varieties of vegetables, fruit, and  exotic fruit over the years.

This is a list of what is currently growing on just a small lot with a tiny home in Los Angeles:

WHAT WILL YOU BE GROWING AT BAREFOOT ACRES?

I intend to grow many different common and exotic varieties of vegetables, a few acres of very diverse fruit and nut orchards, perennial blueberry hedgerows, raspberries, blackberries, goji berries, wine and table grapes, honey from the free bees who pollinate all of the flowers, eggs, culinary and medicinal herbs. The possibilities are endless! I intend to use a greenhouse to grow the same exotic species I have now such as dragon fruit, miracle fruit, guava, passion fruit and other amazing fruits native to the tropics.

Barefoot Acres will be a working farm with employees to continue the research of improving modern agriculture and carbon sequestration. We are not an established 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, but your contribution is a wonderful gift that could quality under the federal gift tax exclusion. 

is the campaign international?

YES! I have reached out to various international organizations to support our endeavor to start the regenerative farm, and to continue working with Barefoot Acres in the future as our living experiment provides research to improve agriculture practices, soil biomass, and water absorption rates.

Absolutely. I read a book by Marcel Mauss called The Gift, and I am a firm believer in his theory that the exchanging of objects between groups builds relationships between humans. Your involvement in the starting of Barefoot Acres will forever change my life, River's life, animal's lives and every single person's life that we encounter from here on out.
